Padmasana to be installed at Parmarth Niketan, strengthening the ties between India and Indonesia
A high level delegation from Bali, Indonesia joined us at Parmarth Niketan recently to offer beautiful dances and cultural performances from their tradition during Parmarth’s divine Ganga Aarti ceremony. Leading the delegation of mostly Parliamentarians was Head of the Parliament, Dr Putu Parwata and Indra Udyana, who were welcomed by Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji and Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji to their Himalayan home with a sacred Rudraksha sapling, mala and shawl.
During their 2-3 day visit, they discussed setting up a sacred Padmasana (Kawi and ultimately derived from Sanskrit term for “lotus pose”), which is a type of shrine in Balinese temples reserved for the seat of Supreme God that holds great spiritual and religious significance to the Balinese people. The Padmasana would be located in the Parmarth Niketan premises and would serve to not only welcome Indonesian people to India but also strengthen the relationship between both countries.
Pujya Swamiji graciously blessed the initiative which was something that had been in pipeline for many years and even shared the perfect location for the placement of the Padmasana. Work has begun for the installation which is being planned to be inaugurated in April by the Governor of Bali and other eminent dignitaries. A sacred lamp lighting and water blessing ceremony was done by the group to symbolize this beautiful beginning.
