Akhil Bhartiya Marwari Mahila Sammelan

Secretary- General Akhil Bhartiya Marwari Mahila Sammelan’s Smt Sushma Agarwalji, brought home to Parmarth Niketan (Rishikesh) a 80 women delegation from the states of Bihar, West Bengal, Orissa, Maharashtra, Chattisgarh and Delhi. On their three day tour of Uttarakhand they spent one evening participating in the divine Ganga Aarti.

During the ceremony, they took a pledge to work in their communities, slums and villages to protect their sacred rivers and water bodies and prevent the practice of open defecation. They took a special pledge to also plant at least one tree in their homes/communities in memory of their green pilgrimage. As a symbol of their pledge Ms. Selma Silajdžić, Yoga Teacher and beautiful wife of Hon’ble Former Prime Minister and President of Bosnia, gifted them a sacred Rudraksha plant that had been blessed by Pujya Swamiji.

They were deeply inspired by a special darshan and meeting with Pujya Swamiji and joined Him in a special water blessing ceremony, reaffirming their pledge for improved sanitation and WASH for all. They also participated in a special Bhandara the next morning which was sponsored by the Solanki family and enjoyed feeding everyone a fresh, hot and vegetarian lunch.
