Akshay Tritiya is considered to be one of the most auspicious days in the Hindu Calendar. It is a day in which whatever you start is bound with a successful and blessed beginning. Today, with all of the incredible changes happening on a global scale, it’s important to embrace and anchor ourselves into our traditions and values.
As I often say, we must preserve our Nature and Culture to protect our Future, and remembering our roots is an important part of this process.
Today is not only the birthday of Parasurama, the sixth incarnation of Vishnu – which is why we also celebrate Parasurama Jayanti – but it signifies the turn of Satya Yuga to Treta Yuga.
Today, let us stay at home and pledge to bring about a new Yuga (a new era) of oneness, of health in the mind, body and spirit and of harmony within ourselves and our communities. So that there is peace within our homes, within our communities and within our families.
