Hon’ble Chief Minister Uttar Pradesh Shri MYogiAdityanathji and Hon’ble Chief Minister Uttarakhand Shri Trivendra Singh Rawatji and Pujya Swamiji discuss Clean & Green Kumbh Mela 2019 at Parmarth Niketan (Rishikesh)
RISHIKESH: On their trip to Rishikesh, Hon’ble Chief Minister Uttar Pradesh Mahant Shri Yogi Adityanathji and Hon’ble Chief Minister Uttarakhand Shri Trivendra Singh Rawatiji met with Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji at Parmarth Niketan (Rishikesh). They discussed the upcoming Kumbh Mela in Allahabad and Haridwar as a Clean and Green one, inspiring all pilgrims and devotees towards a SwachhBharat (Clean India) and Namami Gange (Clean Ganga).
Pujya Swamiji also discussed bringing the International Yoga Festival to the Kumbh Mela 2019 as Yog Kumbh having people from all across the world participate in a celebration of Sangam (true union) on the banks of the Sangam (confluence of the River Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati).
Pujya Swamiji shared with the Hon’ble Chief Ministers that just ahead of the Mela, mass awareness campaigns in the cities and the schools should be organised to motivate the residents to welcome the pilgrims, who would be coming in from across India and around the world, with a clean and pollution-free city. He also added that during the monsoon season massive tree plantation programmes should beautify the pilgrimages so that they are lush and green, ready with fresh oxygen, clean air and coolness for the largest gathering of humanity.
During the meeting, Pujya Swamiji shared proposal of a Swachh Kumbh that also included inspiring rallies, massive interfaith events, Public Service Announcements, signages, road shows, pledge inspiring Ganga Aartis and so much more to inspire people to leave the Mela with swachhta (cleaniness) in their hands and hearts.
They also discussed holding special campaigns focused on interfaith harmony, women, youth, divinely abled children empowerment, Harijan and tribal leaders engagement so as to bring greater equality and oneness amongst all beings.
Pujya Swamiji was joined by Pujya MM Swami Asanganand Saraswatiji, Managing Trustee, Swami Shukdevanand Trust and Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji, Director, International Yoga Festival in giving the Hon’ble Chief Ministers each a fragrant flower mala and a sacred #Rudraksha sapling as a symbol of their visit and their commitment towards this Clean and Green mission.
