GIWA and World Toilet Organization Come Together

Pujya Swamiji inspired the beautiful union of GIWA with World Toilet Organization (WTO). Mr. Jack Sim, the dynamic and dedicated Founder of WTO, visited Parmarth Niketan recently and the two organizations signed an MoU and will be coming together to serve for bringing improved Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) for all.

Previously, Mr. Jack Sim met with Pujya Swamiji at the World Toilet Summit earlier this year and they had an immediate connect with their collective passion to improve sanitation for people all across India and around the world.

Now, GIWA and WTO will be working to design and create the best type of toilets and best possible toilet experience which can encourage and inspire people to stop the practice of open-defection. They will also be working together on education and awareness through short films, promos, ads/jingles to help people understand the dire and crucial need for sanitation. They are planning to launch a major awareness campaign during the upcoming Kumbha Mela 2016, in Haridwar and Ujjain, to spark the flame of a WASH Revolution in the hearts and minds of millions of pilgrims who will come to bathe and worship India’s sacred rivers, which tragically remain dangerously polluted due in large part to mismanaged sewage (toilet) waste water. They also discussed empowering local communities to make their own toilets as well as many other exciting programmes and areas of partnerships.
