Sharing about the important role that our Nation’s police forces can play in water conservation and offering praise for the successful organization of the Sanitation Conclave held last year in Assam with the Hon’ble Chief Minister, HH Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, President of Parmarth Niketan, warmly welcomed Special Director General Police (Border) Assam, Mukesh Agarwalji, his wife, Smt. Vinita Agarwal and the Agarwal family to the Ashram for a special puja on the banks of Mother Ganga and for an informal and informative meeting on a wide-range of topics.
Pujya Swamiji and the Agarwals discussed many issues, including women’s empowerment, menstrual hygiene management, the prevention of child marriage, domestic violence and water and environmental protection. They also discussed the ongoing Covid pandemic and how the virus has put a special focus on water and environmental protection. “Police,” said Pujya Swamiji, “can contribute significantly to maintaining law and order, protecting property, limiting civil disorder and conserving the environment and water. Their work is essential every day, but especially in the Covid Era.”
Pujya Swamiji compared the valour and courage of the police to the 17th Century Princess Joymati, who sacrificed her life so that her husband, Prince Godapani, could remain safe from his enemies. The Prince went on to become the King of Assam and usher in an era of peace and stability.
Special DGP Seema Mukesh Aggarwal said that since years, amazing work is being done by Parmarth Niketan in the direction of humanity and environment protection. He said that the message of environmental protection being given on the global stage through Ganga Aarti started by Pujya Swamiji is exemplary.
