Walking the Himalayas: Journey to Rishikesh

Levison Wood, a 32-year-old British explorer and photojournalist, who walked nearly 4,000 miles along the crocodile-infested Nile River, is now walking the length of the Himalayas ( Walking the Himalayas ). Along his journey, beginning in Afghanistan and trekking 1700 grueling miles across the roof of the world, Levison and his crew made a special visit to Parmarth Niketan (Rishikesh) to meet with Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji, take part in Yoga and in the divine Ganga Aarti ceremony.

Levison shared his many experiences with Pujya Swamiji and then had the opportunity to ask Pujya Swamiji about His experience in the Himalayan jungles.

Pujya Swamiji appreciated Lev’s beautiful spirit and encouraged him to take the external journey within. He shared that while walking so many miles across the world and meeting people from every walk of life is great, the most meaningful journey is the transformation that happens within. He also encouraged Lev to take his experience in Nature, with both the Nile and Ganges Rivers, to share the vital importance of preserving and protecting these sacred waterways for future generations.Lev and his team were so glad to be home at Parmarth and planned to meet Pujya Swamiji again soon.
