Today on the occasion of World Food Safety Day, raising awareness about the diseases caused by contaminated food and polluted water, Parmarth Niketan’s President Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji Maharaj said that for us to have pure food, pollution-free earth, water, and air are needed. If these three elements are polluted, then life starts to be in trouble.
Parmarth Niketan Ashram distributed rations to the needy in the surrounding areas of the ashram. Many people are unemployed at this time, and the first thing they need is food. If everyone comes forward to help together, those families will get strength and some relief too.
The aim of celebrating World Food Safety Day is to create awareness to reduce food- and water-borne risks, and maintain safe food standards while contributing to food security, human health, economic prosperity and sustainable development. 1.8 billion people in the world use contaminated water, which increases the risk of various types of diseases such as heja, pechish, typhoid and polio. 663 million people still lack clean water sources. The poor or socially sensitive communities in general suffer more from food and water problems in India.
